View Unisphere for PowerMax overview page

The Overview page contains an overview of the Health, Alerts, Capacity, Updates, Performance, and CloudIQ status of the arrays connected to Unisphere.

About this task

The overview page (the default mode on login) provides a quick overview of all the arrays. You can use the cards on this page to get a more detailed view of each section.

For an overview of Unisphere functionality, see Overview of Unisphere for PowerMax.

To view the home dashboard view:

Steps

  1. From the menu on the left panel, click Overview.
    The overview page is displayed.
  2. View the following information:

Six cards are displayed on the page:

    • Health -The Health card shows the id, health score, and model of each array. The gray circle with dash icon indicates that no data is available for the array. The white circle indicates a remote array. If you click an Array, the System Health dashboard is displayed.
    • Alerts -The alerts card displays the number of each category of alerts. If you click an alerts category, the alerts list view is displayed. Clicking View All Alerts results in the display of the unfiltered alerts list view. Clicking View All Recommendations results in the display of the alerts list view filtered by recommendation type. In the case where all alerts have been acknowledged, the UI reflects this acknowledgement.
    • Capacity-For storage systems running HYPERMAX OS 5977 or PowerMaxOS 5978, the capacity card displays charts for System and SRP capacity levels under the effective tab that are above the warning threshold and allows you to view the capacity dashboard. For storage systems running PowerMaxOS 10 (6079), the capacity card displays charts for System and SRP capacity levels under three tabs (Effective, Provisioned, and Snapshot) that are above the warning threshold and allows you to view the capacity dashboard of the array. In the case where a capacity category only has stable values, the card is not displayed. If there are values above the warning threshold in one category only, no tabs are shown and instead the category is shown below the system ID. In the case where all SRP capacities are stable, the card reflects this. For systems above the warning threshold that have a single SRP and single Emulation, the chart in the card represents the entire system. For multi-SRP or Multi-Emulation systems above the threshold, there is a chart per SRP per Emulation.
    • Updates-The updates card displays the array operating system level and whether the operating system level is up to date.
    • Performance - The Performance card displays information about the top 20 storage groups across all systems being monitored. The card defaults to Response Time showing the top 20 storage groups with the worst response times across all systems that are registered for performance data collection. Alternatively, the table can be filtered by Host IOs/sec or Host MBs/sec displaying the storage groups with the highest IOs/throughput. By default, the first row in the list is selected and the chart reflects the appropriate metrics for that storage group. The chart is interactive will tooltips showing the read/write breakdowns for a given timestamp datapoint. The chart displays the last 24 hours worth of data. If you click the URL of any storage group in the table, that storage group's Performance dashboard is displayed,
    • CloudIQ -The CloudIQ card displays whether each array is registered for CloudIQ and Secure Connect Gateway and its status if registered (sending data, not sending data).

After successful registration with CloudIQ, the panel displays one of the following:

    • A green check box next to All systems are optimized and All systems are connected. If a subset of the storage system is enabled to send data to CloudIQ, you see, for example, 4 out of 5 systems are connected.
    • If one or more issues arrive from CloudIQ, All systems are optimized is replaced by <number > Health Issue and <number> Optimizations. In addition, a View All link is displayed. When clicked, the CloudIQ Feed View is displayed.
  3. To go to other areas, click any of the following menu items in the left panel:
    • Planning
    • Systems
    • Performance
    • Configuration
    • VMware
